Spark Professional Advisors

Bring your expertise to a charity led by young people.

Spark UK is inviting experienced professionals to help shape our next chapter. We create free, accessible mental health resources, campaigns and programmes for schools, families and young people, with one simple mission: to spark conversations around mental health.

As a Professional Advisor, you’ll support our CEO and team with practical advice, honest feedback and fresh ideas. Your contribution will focus on your area of expertise, whether that’s education, mental health, research, fundraising, partnerships, communications or organisational development.

What you’ll do

  • Share your expertise: offer practical guidance on questions and decisions within your specialist area.

  • Be a sounding board: help us explore new ideas, opportunities and challenges.

  • Review and challenge: provide constructive feedback on relevant plans, proposals and resources.

  • Build connections: introduce us to potential partners, supporters or specialists where appropriate.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for experienced professionals who care about young people’s mental health and believe in the value of youth-led work. You’ll be comfortable sharing your perspective, asking thoughtful questions and working alongside a young team to turn ideas into meaningful projects.

The commitment

This is a 24-month voluntary role, with quarterly online meetings lasting 60–90 minutes and occasional feedback between meetings. We anticipate an average commitment of 1–2 hours per month, with a six-month check-in and annual reviews.

The role is unpaid, with agreed expenses approved in advance. Advisors make recommendations, while decisions remain with Spark’s leadership and trustees.
